FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Field day activities for the University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture turfgrass program will include tours reviewing current research on golf course maintenance, sports turf, lawn care and landscaping. The field day will be held Wednesday, Aug. 6, at the Arkansas Agricultural Research and Extension Center east of Highway 112 on Cassatt Street in Fayetteville.
“Field day provides opportunities to hear the latest up-to-date information about new products and research studies, complete a pesticide recertification program, network with others in the turf industry and visit with vendors at the trade show,” said Doug Karcher, associate professor of horticulture. A barbecue lunch, complimentary hat and information packet will be provided.
On-site registration will be available at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday. The breakfast and trade show opens at 7:30 a.m. followed by the research tours at 9 a.m. Lunch and a World Cup soccer kicking contest will be held at 11:30 a.m. Maps and additional information about the event are online at http://turf.uark.edu/education/field.html.
