Plant pathology graduates students Paul Schroud and Amy Thomas provide information about plant diseases at the Farmers' Market

Plant pathology graduates students Paul Schroud and Amy Thomas provide information about plant diseases at the Farmers' Market on the Fayetteville Square. The plant disease clinic is open at the Farmers' Market on the first and third Saturday of each month from now until early fall.

The Plant Pathology Graduate Students Association at the University of Arkansas is conducting a plant disease clinic at the Farmers' Market on the Fayetteville square the first and third Saturday through the summer and early fall growing season. Dr. Craig Rothrock, professor of plant pathology, said gardeners and homeowners are invited to bring samples of sick plants or to just describe a problem. Dr. Steve Vann, director of the Cooperative Extension Service Plant Disease Clinic at Lonoke operated by the University of Arkansas System's statewide Division of Agriculture, will show samples of common plant and lawn diseases and discuss prevention and treatment options. Reference books and handouts on lawn care and gardening will be provided.
