LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- Zoe Teague of Jonesboro, a graduating senior majoring in environmental, soil and water science at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, represented the Fayetteville campus as a student ambassador at the Scholastic Honors Day program Saturday, May 7, at the Governor’s Mansion in Little Rock .
The event, hosted by Gov. Mike Beebe and Mrs. Beebe, recognizes the top two seniors of each high school around the state. It provides an opportunity for the high school seniors to network with students from each university or college campus in the state.
Teague is an Honors Program student in Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences. She provided leadership for establishing a composting facility on the Fayetteville campus to compost food waste from student residence halls.
Teague has been active in the Associated Student Government on campus, providing leadership for the student Senate’s campus sustainability initiatives. She was also active in her academic department’s student club--the Crops, Soils and Environmental Science Club.
